On April 15, at the meeting of the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vladimir Platonov with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Russian Federation, Mr. Fredrick Ibrahim Kibuta, possible areas of cooperation between entrepreneurs of Moscow and Tanzania were discussed.
Mr. Platonov welcomed Mr. Ambassador and spoke about the main activities of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He noted that the role of embassies is extremely important in maintaining foreign economic relations for business communities in different countries: "It is through the embassies of friendly states that we have established contacts with Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and discuss problems and together find solutions".
In his response, Mr. Fredrick Ibrahim Kibuta, thanked the Head of the MCCI for the warm welcome and spoke about the activities of the Tanzanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the available opportunities for joint work: "There are Russian businessmen who have already invested in the Tanzanian economy. They are still few, but there are still more entrepreneurs from Russia, who sell their products in Tanzania than entrepreneurs from Tanzania doing business in Russia. Our task is to jointly create conditions for equalising business volumes”.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary assured that he will provide all possible assistance and support to entrepreneurs, who wish to do business with the United Republic of Tanzania.
Mr.Vladislav Mishchenko, the Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and International Cooperation of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, spoke about the prospects for the development of foreign economic cooperation. He spoke about the opportunities of Moscow's economy, emphasizing that it is the leader among other Russian regions in terms of IT exports. In addition, Moscow welcomes cooperation in terms of medical tourism, medical devices and pharmaceuticals. "We would also be glad to present our companies that work in the Smart City sector," Mr. Mishchenko added.
Mr. Konstantin Anastasiadi, the Chairman of the MCCI Commission for Foreign Economic Cooperation with Partners in Sub-Saharan Africa, said that during preliminary consultations, Mr.Ibrahim Kibuta proposed to organize communication between businessmen from Tanzania and entrepreneurs, invited by the MCCI in an online mode, before the visit of the delegation to Africa. Then the participants of the meeting, discussed the details and timing for the proposed trip.
